About Us:
Cube Business Media is a recognized leader in the B2B conference industry that owns and operates 12 annual events across Canada, spanning 4 distinct brands. We bring together industry leaders, entrepreneurs, and founders with the ecosystem players that help them grow and succeed. Our portfolio includes The Business Transitions Forum (BTF), TechExit.io, SAAS NORTH, and Tech Talent North.
Cube Business Media is unique in the events industry as we have built many of our brands from the ground up – taking bold, original conference ideas from concept to execution. Our mighty team encapsulates a rare breed of passionate customer-obsessed event enthusiasts who thrive on creating meaningful, high-impact experiences.
The Role:
As the Event Manager for the BTF events, you are the operational owner of these conferences in our portfolio – the person who makes sure every promise we make to our attendees, sponsors, and speakers actually happens, and happens smoothly. You’ll manage each event end-to-end, from venue and hotel planning, through to the post-show report. This includes logistics, food & beverage, suppliers and printed materials, registration, and the communications to sponsors, speakers, and partners who make each show possible. You are their key point of contact throughout their customer journey, and you’re always thinking about how to give them an even better experience.
Above all, you’ll be accountable for three things: flawless, budget-conscious event logistics; an exceptional experience for every sponsor, exhibitor, speaker, and attendee; and hitting every operational milestone to keep our events on track.
You will work closely with the Program & Content Director, Marketing, and Sales on each show. This is a hands-on, execution-driven role for someone who loves organization, thrives on juggling multiple events at once, and is keen to contribute ideas towards refining our operational processes as we grow. Periodic travel within Canada is required.
This role reports to the VP & General Manager.
What You Will Do:
You’ll own event operations from contract to post-show wrap-up, ensuring every event runs smoothly and every stakeholder feels taken care of. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Event Planning & Project Management
- Own the operational workback schedule and milestones for each of your events, and keep the wider team on track against them
- Run weekly event meetings for your brands – capturing notes and action items and following up so nothing falls through the cracks
- Prepare post-show data reports and lead debriefs to capture learnings for the next edition
Sponsor & Partner Management
- Onboard sponsors and ensure every contracted deliverable is fulfilled – logos, signage, ads, newsletter placements, sponsored workshops and email blasts, and speaking opportunities
- Assist Sales with issuing contracts to sponsors (PDF and e-signature), and hand signed deals to Accounting for invoicing
- Keep sponsorship and exhibit deals accurate in our CRM
- Manage partner relationships according to their agreements, including partner comps and promo codes, and ensure partners receive core event communications
- Provide a high level of customer service to sponsors, exhibitors, and partners prior to, during, and after each event
Venue, Hotel & Supplier Management
- Manage event orders with venues (room setups, floor plans, AV, and food & beverage orders) right through to final numbers
- Coordinate suppliers and vendors, including production, signage and print, branded materials and swag (e.g., notebooks, pens), furniture rentals, and photographers
- Assist with sourcing venues and hotels, and negotiating venue and room-block agreements for approval
Speaker Management
- Take confirmed speakers from the Program & Content Director and onboard them, tracking deliverables such as bios, headshots, and slides
- Share speaker and session information with Marketing so announcements and graphics go out on time
- Coordinate speaker prep calls and on-site logistics so speakers are set up for success
Registration & Attendee Experience
- Set up and test registration for each event, including ticket types, promo codes, group and comp tickets
- Field incoming inquiries about registrations, transfers, changes, and cancellations in a friendly and timely manner
- Create post-event surveys and help compile data for internal and stakeholder communications
Show Production & On-Site Execution
- Work with the Program & Content Director to finalize run of show, scripts, and printed program materials
- Be on-site during show days, including move-in and move-out – managing registration, volunteers, suppliers, and the venue team
- Serve as the go-to problem solver on-site so speakers, sponsors, and attendees have a seamless experience
This Role Is for You If You:
- Have 3+ years' experience in event or conference management, ideally with B2B events
- Have strong project management skills and treat milestone dates as promises to the rest of the team
- Are extremely detail-oriented and meticulous, with a natural knack for remembering every detail from small to big
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment, can work independently, and can switch gears between multiple events and projects every day
- Bring excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excel at building relationships and connecting with people at all levels
- Want to be part of a small but mighty team where your contributions truly matter
Bonus Points If You:
- Are proficient in registration platforms (e.g., Bizzabo), CRM and email tools (e.g., ActiveCampaign), project management tools (e.g., Asana), Canva, and the Microsoft Office suite
- Have in-depth experience in Claude, and use it to your advantage in a smart way
- Have worked or volunteered at conferences or trade shows
- Bring a genuine passion for entrepreneurship, tech, and live events

- A culture that respects balance. We move fast and aim high, but we also value personal time and encourage healthy boundaries because the real ‘WHY’s of why we come to work always come first and burnout isn’t sustainable.
