Original job description

Your new company

This engineering consultancy is well known for delivering high‑quality technical services and for cultivating a genuinely collaborative, supportive workplace. With a strong multidisciplinary presence across both commercial and residential sectors, they combine the stability of a large organisation with the visibility, mentorship and growth opportunities of a smaller team. Their office is located in a unique, vibrant setting, and the culture is fun, social and team‑oriented. You’ll be learning directly from principals with more than 25 years of experience, gaining exposure to complex challenges on existing buildings where the work goes far beyond design but involves problem solving.

Your new role

As a Project Manager/Engineer within the Vancouver Mechanical Engineering group, you’ll take the lead on mechanical projects and support clients across new builds and tenant improvement work involving HVAC and plumbing systems. You’ll collaborate closely with your team to prepare mechanical construction documents and equipment specifications, carry out site evaluations and mechanical assessments, contribute to warranty reviews and building condition assessments, and support the development of technical reports. You’ll also coordinate project activities, maintain strong communication with clients, contractors and consultants, and represent the organisation at meetings and industry events.

What you'll need to succeed

You bring at least three years of experience inspecting and designing building mechanical systems, supported by a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. You have proven capability in HVAC and plumbing system design, life‑cycle analysis and cost estimation for Canadian projects. You are registered or nearing registration as a P.Eng. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, a collaborative mindset and a passion for creative problem‑solving are essential. A valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation are also required.

What you'll get in return

You’ll join a dynamic, friendly team that values professional development, social connection and meaningful project work. The role offers a competitive salary in the range of $90K–$120K, profit‑sharing opportunities, future potential for share ownership, and a comprehensive benefits package. You’ll gain exposure to the full project life cycle and won’t be pigeonholed, your work will be varied, impactful and supported by a team that genuinely enjoys working together.
