At Pacific Blue Cross, we're committed to improving the health and wellbeing of British Columbians. As our Strategic Finance Manager, you will play a critical role in shaping the financial direction of Thrive, one of Pacific Blue Cross’s largest and most significant multi-year transformation programmes.
This role is ideal for a finance professional who thrives in complex project environments and enjoys partnering with project teams to turn business ideas into sound financial decisions. Acting as the dedicated finance lead for the programme, you will work closely with Project Managers, Finance leaders, business stakeholders, and executive sponsors to evaluate investments, develop business cases, assess project costs and benefits, and provide ongoing financial oversight throughout the project lifecycle.
You will be responsible for building and maintaining sophisticated multi-year financial models that translate project assumptions into meaningful financial outcomes. From forecasting and variance analysis to benefits realisation and investment evaluation, you will provide the insights needed to help leaders understand where we are investing, the value those investments are expected to deliver, and whether programme objectives are being achieved.
Success in this role requires the ability to navigate ambiguity, analyse incomplete information, and convert complex operational and project-related discussions into clear financial recommendations. You will challenge assumptions, identify risks and opportunities, evaluate scenarios, and provide decision-ready insights that support effective programme governance and strategic decision-making.
This is a highly visible role that requires a unique blend of financial expertise, project acumen, and strong stakeholder management skills. You will act as a trusted advisor to both finance and project teams, translating business and project assumptions into financial impacts while helping to strengthen financial discipline across a large-scale transformation programme with a multi-year investment budget.
We're looking for a collaborative, analytical, and self-directed finance professional who combines strong FP&A expertise with experience supporting large transformation initiatives. You'll be comfortable managing competing priorities, working across multiple workstreams, presenting recommendations to senior leaders, and influencing decisions through data-driven insights.
If you have experience in roles such as Strategic Finance Manager, Finance Business Partner, FP&A Manager, Finance Transformation Manager, Project Finance Manager, Programme Finance Lead, Corporate Finance Manager, or Finance Manager supporting large-scale transformation initiatives, we'd love to hear from you. Experience supporting multi-year projects, capital investments, system implementations, operational transformations, or enterprise-wide change programmes within insurance, financial services, healthcare, telecommunications, utilities, consulting, technology, or public-sector organisations will be highly valued.
