Original job description

We are looking for friendly, reliable, and compassionate individuals to join our Vancouver team in a volunteer capacity for front desk support. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys helping others, has strong interpersonal skills, and wants to contribute to a supportive environment for people affected by cancer.

A Little About Us

InspireHealth Supportive Cancer Care (www.inspirehealth.ca) is a leading Canadian organization in whole-person cancer care. For over 25 years, InspireHealth has empowered people living with cancer and their loved ones through evidence-based programs that combine physical activity, nutrition, emotional support, and mindfulness with conventional treatment.

Overview

Opportunities are available Tuesday through Friday from 11:00am-3:00pm. While volunteers are not expected to commit to all these hours each week, we hope to build a team that can collectively provide consistent coverage through these times. This is a great opportunity for someone wants to gain office experience or is looking to make a meaningful contribution to the community in a supportive and professional environment.

Volunteer Responsibilities:

Greeting and checking in patients upon arrival
Answering incoming phone calls and redirecting calls
Booking appointments
Registering new patients into our electronic system
Providing general administrative support to the team

Skills and Qualities We’re Looking For:

Previous experience with various technology platforms such as Microsoft Office, Electronic Medical Records systems, and communications platforms such as Zoom & Telus Business Connect or comfort with learning new platforms.
Excellent oral and written communication
Ability to create a welcoming, supportive, and compassionate environment
Ability to work with a broad range of people including patients, support people, volunteers and staff
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and respecting patient privacy

How to Apply

You must be eligible to work in Canada at the time of application. Please email your resume and cover letter to hr@inspirehealth.ca. Please include ‘Front Desk Support, Vancouver BC’ in the subject line of your email.
