About Guldmann
Guldmann is a Danish healthcare technology company providing patient lifting systems and related solutions to hospitals, long-term care homes, and other care environments.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a hands-on, customer-focused Project Manager to deliver patient lift installation projects across British Columbia, with a concentration of customers in Greater Vancouver and the Lower Mainland. You will manage projects from commercial handoff and site assessment through planning, engineering coordination, installation, financial control, customer acceptance, and closeout.
This role works closely with customers, general contractors, architects, engineers, internal teams, vendors, and installation subcontractors. Success requires strong organization, technical aptitude, commercial awareness, and the ability to keep multiple projects moving safely, on schedule, within scope, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
· Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, margins, risks, materials, invoicing plans, and closeout activities.
· Review quotations, contracts, drawings, specifications, assumptions, exclusions, calculation sheets, and project requirements during handoff.
· Complete site assessments and coordinate structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, and installation requirements.
· Plan and coordinate installations with customers, contractors, internal teams, vendors, technicians, and subcontractors.
· Confirm site readiness, access, safety, infection-control, storage, sequencing, materials, and other prerequisites before mobilization.
· Monitor project progress, costs, forecast-to-complete, schedule performance, quality, deficiencies, and corrective actions.
· Identify and document scope changes, delays, site conditions, and cost impacts; coordinate change orders and prevent unapproved scope creep.
· Manage project-related materials and inventory in the Lower Mainland and support the Maple Ridge warehouse as assigned.
· Maintain accurate project records, drawings, approvals, meeting notes, schedules, cost information, change records, and closeout documentation.
· Provide clear customer communication, resolve issues proactively, and escalate significant commercial or operational risks early.
· Coordinate post-installation quality inspections, deficiency resolution, customer acceptance, final invoicing, and lessons learned.
· Provide practical field or remote support related to installations, maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, and load testing when required.
What You Bring
· Five or more years of relevant project-management experience in construction, healthcare, medical equipment, building systems, installations, or a comparable technical environment.
· Experience managing multiple projects involving scope, schedule, budget, risk, subcontractors, materials, documentation, and customer communication.
· Construction-site experience and the ability to interpret architectural, structural, and construction drawings.
· Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with practical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
· Clear written and verbal communication, sound judgement, strong organization, and close attention to detail.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, project-management software, and other business systems.
· A valid driver’s licence and reliable ability to travel to customer and project sites.
· A valid passport, or eligibility to obtain one, for occasional company travel.
Preferred Qualifications
· Post-secondary education in construction management, engineering technology, building science, business, project management, or a related field.
· PMP, CAPM, or another relevant project-management credential.
· Experience in healthcare construction, patient-handling equipment, medical technology, field service, inventory control, or formal change-order management.
Physical & Work Requirements
· Ability to work in office, home-office, warehouse, construction-site, hospital, and long-term care environments.
· Ability to use common hand and power tools, climb ladders, access active installation areas, and lift or carry up to 50 lb when reasonably required.
· Flexibility for occasional evening, weekend, overnight, or air travel based on project and site requirements.
Compensation & Benefits
The position includes a competitive base salary, performance-based compensation, health and dental benefits, disability insurance, life insurance, paid time off, flexible work arrangements, vehicle allowance / mileage reimbursement, and company-supported professional development, subject to applicable plans and policies.
