Senior Backend Developer (.NET / APIs / Azure)
Location: Downtown Vancouver, BC (Hybrid) - Tues. Wed, Thursday - in office
Company: Growing Canadian Fintech / B2B SaaS
The Opportunity
We're working with a growing Canadian fintech company that's changing how banks and financial institutions make lending decisions.
They've built a cloud-based platform that uses automation, financial data, and AI to make a traditionally slow and complicated process much faster and smarter.
They're looking for a strong, hands-on Senior Backend Developer who loves building things, knows their way around complex APIs, and can help shape the next stage of their platform.
This isn't a role where you'll spend your days in meetings talking about architecture. You'll be writing code, solving interesting technical problems, and having a real say in how the product evolves.
What You'll Be Doing
- Building and improving backend services and APIs that power the platform.
- Developing integrations with banks, financial data providers, and other third-party systems.
- Writing clean, scalable code, primarily using Microsoft technologies.
- Helping evolve the platform's architecture as the company grows.
- Tackling challenges around performance, security, and reliability.
- Working closely with a small, collaborative engineering team where your ideas actually matter.
- Using modern AI development tools to work smarter and build faster.
What We're Looking For
backend development experience with strong hands-on coding skills.
- Solid experience with C#, .NET, and ASP.NET Core.
- Strong experience building REST APIs and third-party integrations.
- Good understanding of microservices, distributed systems, and databases.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure or similar cloud environments.
- Familiarity with API security, authentication, and modern development practices.
- Someone who takes ownership, thinks critically, and enjoys figuring things out rather than waiting for instructions.
Why It's Worth a Conversation
You'll be joining a growing SaaS business with a real product, real customers, and plenty of interesting engineering challenges ahead.
It's a smaller team, so you won't be just another developer working on a tiny piece of a massive system. You'll have genuine ownership, plenty of technical variety, and the opportunity to influence what gets built and how.
