About Kanto Audio
At Kanto, we believe great sound should feel approachable. Since 2007, we've designed speakers, turntables, and audio accessories that bring people and sound together. We create thoughtfully crafted audio products that blend high-fidelity performance with modern design, making it easier for more people to enjoy music, movies, and everything in between.
Earlier this year, we launched a new visual identity, product lineup, and website, marking the next chapter of the Kanto brand. As we continue to grow, we're looking for a creative, digital-first Social Media Specialist & Content Creator to help shape how we show up online and connect with our audience.
The Opportunity
This is a full-time, in-person, Monday-to-Friday role based in our Vancouver studio.
Our office is located in Mount Pleasant - a design and engineering space with a listening room, workshop, testing area, an open office, and a view over Jonathan Rogers Park. It's where we develop products, debate the little details, listen to music, test ideas, and occasionally realize we should have posted more on Stories.
Working alongside our Marketing and Creative teams and reporting to the Director of Consumer Marketing, you'll create content that brings our products, brand, and personality to life across Instagram and TikTok. You'll have the freedom to experiment, test ideas, and learn what makes people stop scrolling while gaining firsthand experience inside a growing consumer electronics brand.
We're looking for someone with relevant, hands-on experience in social media management and content creation who understands what makes content resonate online. You live and breathe internet culture, can spot trends before everyone else, and know how to turn a simple product feature into content people actually want to watch.
Key Responsibilities
- Create platform-native content: Conceptualize, film, edit, and publish engaging content for Instagram and TikTok that builds brand awareness and engagement. Pitch and produce ideas that connect Kanto's products and personality to relevant trends, creators, and cultural moments.
- Manage social content: Plan and maintain the content calendar and coordinate publishing to keep our channels fresh, timely, and active.
- Track performance: Monitor key social metrics, identify opportunities for improvement, and use insights to inform future content.
- Maintain brand consistency: Ensure all photos, videos, and graphics posted on our channels reflect the Kanto visual identity, tone of voice, and overall brand direction.
- Support campaigns and launches: Collaborate with the Marketing and Creative teams to develop and execute social content for brand campaigns, activations, and product releases.
- Community engagement: Actively engage with our audience through comments and DMs, escalating customer inquiries to our Support team when needed.
- Identify collaboration opportunities: Research and reach out to potential creators and partners for product gifting, user-generated content (UGC), and brand collaborations.
- Bring new ideas to the table - even the weird ones: Take creative ownership, experiment with different approaches, and help us find new ways to connect with our audiences online.
Qualifications and Experience
- 1–3 years of experience in social media and content creation, with a portfolio demonstrating your ability to develop ideas, produce content, and publish for social platforms.
- Proficiency in CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, or similar video editing software.
- Working knowledge of Figma, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or similar design tools.
- Experience planning and maintaining a social media content calendar, with an understanding of publishing workflows and best practices.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop engaging, on-brand captions, hooks, and creative concepts.
- Comfortable both behind and in front of the camera, including filming products, capturing candid moments, and appearing in content when needed.
- A self-starter who can manage priorities, work both independently and collaboratively, and take ownership of projects from concept to completion.
- Ability to reliably commute to our Vancouver studio or relocate before starting work.
Nice to Haves
- Prior experience creating content for a brand, organization, or personal channel.
- A strong understanding of internet culture, social trends, and platform-native storytelling.
- An interest in music, technology, audio, interiors, or design.
- Basic experience with photography, lighting, audio recording, or production techniques.
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive salary: $58,000–$65,000 CAD per year, depending on relevant experience and qualifications.
- Health & Benefits: Access to a flexible benefits spending account that can be used toward eligible health, dental, vision, and other extended health expenses, following successful completion of probation.
- Vacation: 6% vacation entitlement.
- Professional development: Opportunities to pursue relevant training and courses that support your professional growth and contribute to Kanto's success.
- Career growth: Opportunities to take on new responsibilities and pursue internal advancement as you develop your skills and contribute to the business.
- Employee perks: Product discounts, company events, and opportunities to work alongside our Marketing, Creative, and Product teams.
